Nehr Wale Pul

A visual piece set to my favourite Noor Jehan song, built on the lyrics and subtitled in Gurmukhi and English so the words stay present throughout. I appear in it.

The idea came from a patch of farmland I passed on the way to Goa airport, with the sun hitting it just right. I pictured myself in a Punjabi suit running through the fields, because that is how Goa has made me feel. I had thought about it every monsoon, when everything turns lush, and finally made it on my birthday.
